Vibrant, bold, and full of colour — just like the clothing they love to wear — Meriah brings energy and warmth wherever she goes. Her little one, Elias, is often right there beside her, happily greeting visitors at the door and eagerly testing out toys and books.

From sorting days and swaps to emergency parcel deliveries, Meriah is a familiar and dedicated face in our volunteer community. By profession, she’s a speech and language therapist with NHS Borders — and even while out and about in her NHS role, she’s been known to deliver emergency parcels along the way.

During her maternity leave, Meriah generously gave her time to volunteer, and even after returning to work, she’s continued to support us by using her annual leave to join Thursday sorting days and swaps. If you ever come across an item and wonder, “What does this do?” — Meriah is the go-to person. She always has the answer!

Her husband, Gary, hasn’t been spared either — he's pitched in with packing up swaps and transporting donations to our base.

Meriah also helped find a new home for a surplus of Baby Box items. Knowing they weren’t being collected locally, she took a full load down south to ensure they could be used — saving both money and waste in the process.

Meriah is an example of what community spirit looks like: giving time, energy, and heart — even when life is already full.
